Sound Vote Digital Film & Sound | 655 x 480 px | 2006 TOP ![]()
A short digital film/music video created as a response to the increasing installation and use of electronic voting machines. The intent was to create a sonic environment to underscore the ominous nature of these devices and the secrecy surrounding the way they function. The film suggests a connection between the makers of the voting machine with the military industrial complex: Perpetual war is good business and "assured victory" is achievable.

Gestus Divinus is a hypothetical interface model for digital making and input. It is based on gesture, as depicted in western religious painting. The research sought parallels between operating systems and religious codes. Each follows distinct protocols and both 'systems' can be seen as liberating or oppressive. By utilizing gestures, the input system unites the expressive motion inherent in oral communication with the need for spiritual and creative fulfillment. These spiritual gestures intuitively empower the user as a creator.
Artificial Intelligence Motion & Sound | 640 x 480 | 2004 TOP ![]()
Artificial Intelligence is a 40 second video; a hyper compressed 'psuedo biography' and speculative profile of the actor turned politician, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The piece attempts to tie his past to his future. From the insecure son of a Nazi soldier, his rise as a 13 time world body building champion and world famous actor, to his present position as governor of California and his prophesized* run as a U.S. presidential candidate. * - As referenced in the movie Demolition Man (1993).
Digital Doppelgänger Motion & Sound | 640 x 480 | 2004TOP ![]()
A one minute video that investigates the shifting between real and fictitious environments and the temptation to exist psychologically, in another place. With the increasing speed of travel, there is an increased sense of the loss of journey and reflection. With no journey, experience has no depth, it is a series of ever present and newer nows. The flatness of the computer screen represents just such a place. We can be two places simultaneously. A replicant, a second self, can exist in both real and simulated spaces at the same time. If this simulation is allowed to overtake the physical-self, what are the consequences?
