Mythology Box     Lithography Print | 7.5 x 7.5 x 1| 2005 TOP

A limited series of boxes designed to house a collection of 21 etched prints with the same mythological theme. The visual elements were appropriated from 1800s era book cover ornamentation and embossing.

Prototype Typeface Storyboard     Large format Inkjet | 22 x 15 | 2003 TOP

Prototype is a highly modular typeface informed by early 20th century geometric type. It is infused with some softer quirks and stroke variations that serve to subtley humanize the pure geometries. The upper case characters have been designed to be identifiable and distinctive, unlike some geometric sans.

Deco-Rational flyer     Digital Photo Print | 16 x 9 | 2003 TOP

A project guided by guest lecturer Denise Gonzalez Crisp. During the process of creation, the decorative was allowed to over-take the function of the piece, in this case a fictional flyer for a local farmer's market. The final result was balanced between strict utility and over-blown ornamentation.

Somnus booklet cover     Color Inkjet | 9.5 x 5 | 2003 TOP

Storyboard booklet and disc for the video Somnus. The booklet describes the sleeping and waking states of mind. It seeks to illustrate the emotive attchment of sleep experienced by the chronically deprived.Daytime becomes intense hyper-reality and the night is filled with visions of transcendence.

Hermann Park Guide & Map     Offset Litho | 4.5 x 12 | 2003 TOP

A multi-function brochure and map for historic Hermann Park in central Houston. It provides information about the park, attractions, services, historical data, hours of operation and trivia. The piece folds to a slim 4.5 x 12, but can be opened to reveal the 18 x 24 park map.

HGAC Bacteria Brochure     Offset Litho | 3.5 x 8.25 | 2002 TOP

A public service brochure funded by the Houston-Galveston Area Council. The brochure outlines the health issues surrounding Houston area bayou bacteria levels and water safety concerns.

Brain Injury Source Magazine     Web Press | 8 x 10 | 2001 & 2002 TOP

A quarterly publication for physicians and researchers specializing in mild and traumatic brain injury. There was no allotted budget for photography or illustration. I was responsible for producing all images and artwork throughout the 48 page publication.
